I’m Mick Routledge – musician, sound-recordist and mixer working in Manchester, UK.
I’ve had a wealth of experience working with artists like Jah Wobble, Ron Sexsmith, Alice Russell, A Certain Ratio, Scritti Politti, Blue Orchids, Inspiral Carpets, Spaceheads and many more.

I’m also 50% of the Bleachboys production team with Spaceheads drummer Richard Harrison.
I have a nice room for mixing, editing and overdubbing and an ever-expanding gear list based on Logic Pro and Metric Halo interfaces, a full range of fancy mics and outboard and loads of instruments, amps and FX. I listen on Proac and Avantone monitors.
My room is good for singers, songwriters and electronic music, whilst for bigger projects I’ll either track in a ‘proper’ studio or set up a pop-up studio somewhere comfortable before taking the recordings back to my room for overdubs and mixing. I’ve been working like this for years and can get professional results without breaking the bank.
I also mix live shows and am used to working with whatever gear I’m faced with in your typical venue – from rock’n’roll dive to festival main-stage.
