Alice Russell
When I mixed Alice Russell's Pot Of Gold album Alice and producer Alex Cowan were aiming for a late '60s soul vibe akin to Marvin Gaye's Trouble Man album. The tracks had been recorded live with vintage gear so the basic sound was there from the off, and in mixing I continued the vintage theme with heavy use of UAD plugins, especially the Pultec and Neve eqs, Fairchild, LA2A and 1176 compressors and the EMT 140 plate reverb.
It's out now on Little Poppet in Europe and Six Degrees in the USA.
